Welcome to the official website of the Department of Computer Engineering, VESIT. VESIT is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The Department is NBA (AICTE) accredited.

Our Vision
To reach International Standards in Empowering students with Computing Skills and Cutting Edge Technology.

Our Mission
1. Sustain excellence in teaching and research and create “Center of Excellence”. 
2. Provide broad Educational and Research experiences through interdisciplinary and Industrial collaboration  programs.
3. Prepare students to enter the world of computing and make them ready for productive employment in the public or private sectors, or to pursue advanced degrees.


Achievements 2007-08

86% placement,111% job offers (and maximum CTC being 8.5 lakhs, indicate industry readiness of the department).

Students participated in MSDN & Student to Business Microsoft projects, IBM-Great Mind Challenge and IIT–Eklavya project competitions. The team was selected amoung top 20 teams

Chinmay Barve of (B.E.Computers) won 2nd position in IEEE Student Branch Website Contest (Asia-Pacific). Go to the award winning website.

Project – Virtual Classroom, team comprising of Bhavik Vora, Krunal Dedhia Saili Dharia and Veenit Mavani, was selected in national finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup -07. Read More

Faculty and Students participated in National Robotics competition Robocon ’07 at MIT Pune. Team VESIT reached semi-finals. They participated in 2008 too and reached quarter finals. Read more about VESIT Robotics

Faculty and Students also participated in “Mission Transition” A Technical and Analytical competition organized by Cognizant, Pune.

Students won prizes in competitions at Technical festivals at VJTI and IIT.

The department conducted various seminars and workshops under Industry – Academia collaboration. Few of them are: “Solutions for Enterprise Threat Management” by Cyberoam, Business Intelligence Practices (Data Mining and Warehousing)- by Accenture, Mobile Application Development (Mobile Computing)- by MAQ and Project Management- by Quetzal.

Under Faculty Development Programme faculty have attended Industry sponsored courses in L&T and Accenture and at TCS.

Numerous papers in both the National and International arena have been presented by the members of the faculty.

Faculty were invited to deliver talks in various topics in ISTE approved STTP courses namely in “Matlab:Simulation Tool” at Datta Meghe Engineering college, Airoli and Advanced Distributed Computing course at D.J. Sanghavi College of Engg. Also Faculty delivered expertise lectures in “OOMD workshop” sponsored by MSBTE.

Game Development

The Computer Enginnering Department in VESIT took a new path for extending its research in the field of virtual reality and gaming. This year a 3D Game was developed using Open Source Ogre and the Visual C++ programming platform.
